Decatur Woman Wakes Up, Finds Robber In Bedroom
The robbery occurred Monday morning in the 1000 block of South Candler Street.
The Decatur's southside, especially along South Candler Street, has been hit hard by the recent crime wave. On Monday, one of the most alarming incidents occurred.
A woman who lives in the 1000 block of South Candler Street told Decatur police she woke up Monday morning and found a strange man in her bedroom.
According to police, the woman said the man wanted money but she didn't have any. The man demanded she take him to a safe and unlock it but she didn't know the combination.

He forced her to open the front door and lie face down on the bed and left the residence with a cellphone.
The woman said it looked like the subject entered through the unlocked bedroom window in the northwest corner of the residence. She did not provide a detailed description of the suspect.
