Museum School Celebrates 'Take Your Parents to Lunch Day'

The Museum School took part in National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day with a food truck fundraiser picnic on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Nectar Foods donated a portion of proceeds to the school for its nutrition program. Parents sponsored teachers and other students who would not otherwise be able to participate.

School volunteers served more than 700 orders for this event. Families with their children, teachers and friends dined on grilled turkey with cheese Panini’s, fresh apples, bananas and strawberry smoothies. 

National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day is an annual event that brings awareness and action to great nutrition in our schools. Studies show that kids who eat a nutritious lunch can improve academic performance and maintain a healthy weight. Learn more at myhealthyschool.com.

As part of its participation, The Museum School is entered to win a $1,000 grant toward improving the lunch program.
