The city told residents to expect some disruptions.

The Waffle House restaurant, located at 2850 E. College Avenue, will be closed on November 26th from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. for filming.  In addition, the two (2) westbound lanes of E. College Avenue, between Pine and Olive Streets, will be closed. The turn lane along E. College Avenue will be made into a westbound lane and the two (2) east bound lanes will operate as usual. This closure was approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The website www.movieweb.com says the movie is about single mothers forced to come together after an incident at their children's school. Lionsgate will distribute the movie, which is expected in theaters May 9, 2014.

This is not the first movie made in Avondale Estates. Back in April, scenes for the remake of Steel Magnolias were shot in the city. That movie aired on the Lifetime network.

The city's other recent brush with stardom occurred over Labor Day weekend 2011 when Justin Bieber filmed a public service announcement urging people not to text while driving.
