Hello! I'm a native of metro Atlanta who has lived all over Georgia and moved back home in 2007, living ITP since 2009. I am a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor of arts in journalism, and I cut my reporter's teeth at the student newspaper there, The Red & Black. I spent several years as a staff writer for The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, where I covered the local military base, criminal justice, and general assignments -- with my last major news event being the passing of Augusta's native son, James Brown (who gave me the most unique interview I've ever had in my writing career). I am currently a science writer for the University Relations department at Georgia State University, covering research which is only increasing in importance as the years wear on. I handle media relations, magazine writing, web writing and social media for research in my current position. I have been involved in the community with work for the Jerusalem House, which helps men, women and children with HIV/AIDS, and in what free time I have, I enjoy getting out and exploring Atlanta. I look forward to getting further acquainted with the fabric of the wonderful communities we have in our area, and I hope to see you around town!
