Revolution Donuts To Open Friday

Friday is National Donut Day, so it's only fitting that Revolution Donuts will open in Decatur to dispense those tasty wheels of love. The shop at 908 W. College Ave. will officially begin serving at 7 a.m. Besides donnuts, the will sell muffins, scones and other baked goods, owner Maria Riggs said. Everything will be made from scratch, without preservatives. Riggs said the shop will have one gluten-free offering in the beginning, such as a cookie, but she hopes to expand the gluten-free line. Revolution Donuts is able to open because of a Kickstarter campaign that raised $12,271.
