This is the third year for Small Business Saturday, and Decatur is celebrating the day in a big way. The Decatur Business Association says shoppers can: According to the Small Business Saturday website, American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. Fittingly, the day falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. What Should Go Here? Former Hairwerks

Do you have ideas about what should go into this corner shop off East Howard?

(Editor's note: This edition of "What Should Go There?" ran last Tuesday, but it got absolutely no response because everybody was keyed into the election. Here's a replay.) The Hairwerks salon used to occupy this spot in the back corner of the building at 302 E. Howard Ave. in Decatur. You can tell by the sign and the broken barber pole. Decatur Merchants Start Terrific Thursdays

The city says there will be "a major announcement" to kick off Terrific Thursdays at 6 p.m. at the Community Bandstand.

Downtown Decatur merchants are starting the holiday shopping season today with Terrific Thursdays. To further entice you downtown, the city says there will be "a major announcement" at 6 p.m. at the community bandstand on the court square that will help kick off Terrific Thursdays. Stores and shops that are part of Terrific Thursdays will stay open late and offer snacks and discounts to customers. Go to the Visit Decatur website to see a full list of participating stores. Terrific Thursdays will be held Nov. 8, 15 and 29 and Dec. 6, 13 and 20.

Garlic Restaurant Sold

The Thai place will become an "American seasonal restaurant" called Native.

Garlic, a Thai restaurant that took the Little Azio's space on West Ponce a few years ago, has closed and a replacement has already been lined up. The Shumacher Group of real estate brokers issued this information on its website. The Shumacher Group, Inc. and Steve Josovitz just sold the Garlic Thai Sushi ( Formerly Little Azio ) in Decatur.  This restaurant is located in the heart of Decatur with super Ponce visibility at 340 West Ponce De Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. The Buyer John Mathews will be opening a American seasonal restaurant to be called NATIVE “A Local Joint”. The Shumacher Group, Inc. and Steve Josovitz represented Seller in sale.
