First Look: LuciBell, A Monogramming and Gift Shop

LuciBell is very similar to Melrose on Ponce, the business that previously occupied the building in Decatur.

LuciBell, a monogramming and gift shop, will hold a grand opening 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 345 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., next to Taqueria del Sol. Owner Janice Grady will operate out of the building previously occupied by Melrose on Ponce. Grady used to work at Melrose on Ponce, which closed about two months ago. Grady said LuciBell will also sell antiques, "cottage furniture," linens, artwork and stuff for "urban gardens," such as potted plants, statues and wind chimes.

Melrose on Ponce Going Out of Business

The gift and monogramming store's last day will be Saturday.

Melrose on Ponce, a gift and monogramming shop that's operated six years at 345 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur, is closing its doors. "The overhead is killing me here," owner Shirlyn Englisby said Thursday. "That's the way it is in retail sometimes." The store next to Taqueria del Sol will hold a going-out-of-business sale 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It's a cash-only event. Englisby said she'll still be available for monogramming. She can be reached at MelroseOnPonce@gmail.com
