The weather should be better than last year for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. service project. Partly cloudy days with highs in the lower 50s and lower 40s are forecast for Saturday-Monday, Jan. 14-16. The chance of precipitation is about 10 percent. In January 2011, residents trudged through snow that had fallen across the metro area. Volunteers had to shovel sidewalks in addition to doing yard work and making home repairs for lower-income senior citizens. This is the 10th straight year that Decatur is holding its MLK Day service project. According to information given to the Decatur City Commission Monday night, volunteers will work in 65 yards of lower-income senior citizens and make repairs in 22 homes. Last year about 1,200 …
