C.T. Vivian To Replace Lowery at Agnes Scott MLK Event
The Rev. Joseph Lowery pulled out because of illness. The MLK convocation starts at 2 p.m. Friday in Presser Hall at Agnes Scott College.
Agnes Scott College sent out a message late Thursday about a change in speakers at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day convocation, to be held Friday on campus. The Rev. Joseph Lowery was scheduled to speak but can't do it because of illness. He'll be replaced by C.T. Vivian, a Freedom Rider and civil rights legend. The convocation will be held at 2 p.m. in Gaines Chapel, Presser Hall at Agnes Scott. The legal holiday will be Monday, Jan. 21.
