First Look at Native: A Local Joint

The "seasonal comfort food" restaurant in Decatur will have a soft opening this weekend and grand opening Monday.

A new restaurant called Native: A Local Joint will have a soft opening this weekend and a grand opening Monday at 340 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur. Owner John Mathews described the menu as "seasonal comfort food"  for the whole family. Daily specials will be listed on a chalkboard and based on food available at local farmers markets. Since the chef and front-of-the-house manager have New Orleans connections, the menu (see attachment) will have a Southern flavor. The lunch menu includes a muffuletta panini for $8.95, cream of tomato basil soup for $4 and $5 and calamari for $7.95. Garlic Restaurant Sold

The Thai place will become an "American seasonal restaurant" called Native.

Garlic, a Thai restaurant that took the Little Azio's space on West Ponce a few years ago, has closed and a replacement has already been lined up. The Shumacher Group of real estate brokers issued this information on its website. The Shumacher Group, Inc. and Steve Josovitz just sold the Garlic Thai Sushi ( Formerly Little Azio ) in Decatur.  This restaurant is located in the heart of Decatur with super Ponce visibility at 340 West Ponce De Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. The Buyer John Mathews will be opening a American seasonal restaurant to be called NATIVE “A Local Joint”. The Shumacher Group, Inc. and Steve Josovitz represented Seller in sale.
