Decatur residents can come to the Brick Store Pub to discuss the city budget process.
This is a new way of feeling the public pulse. Decatur city officials are inviting residents to the Brick Store Pub from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 14 to talk with Andrea Arnold, an assistant city manager, about the city's budgeting process. This is a change. Normally, the city hears the voice of the people in legally required public hearings at city hall. The setting is formal, the atmosphere sleep inducing, the refreshments nonexistent. As the Decatur Minute says of the Brick Store meeting, This is your chance to find out how the budget process works and give your input. This is the first of three meetings using this new format. The next meeting will be held in April in Oakhurst and the third one will be at City Hall in May. Click here to…
