Well, the city of Atlanta isn't particularly bicycle friendly, so let it be a wake up call to all those cities that don't put forth the effort to make the roads safer for bicycle enthusiasts. Paul was a good person and while doing something he loved was needlessly taken from us too soon. With the facts that have been presented, I don't blame the driver of the truck, but this could have been …   more ›

Wheels & Heels: Bicyclists Hate Road 'Turtles'

Those white plastic road bumps showing up around town are getting plenty of criticism from bicyclists.

The situation has made Avondale Estates Police Chief Gary Broden so frustrated that he's issued a broad letter to area cyclists warning them that they risk tickets if they continue to roll through stop signs in this hamlet. Oh, some area cycling leaders are on Broden's side. The Avondale Estates Police Department contacted local cycling clubs in February to request that cyclists please observe the “rules of the road.”  "To our delight, we received messages in return from some…

Hats off to a law-abiding cyclists this morning at 5 a.m. It was pitch black outside and he was parked at the traffic light at E. Ponce de Leon and DeKalb Industrial. Though his momentum was momentarily interrupted, his integrity and perhaps the fact that he's now aware of the above article and its consequences, I observed as he waited patiently for the light to change. Kudos to him!!!   more ›
