Avondale Cycles Moving To Atlanta
The bike shop will open March 4 in the Old Fourth Ward with the name Atlanta Beltline Bicycles.
The Avondale Estates shop that specializes in inexpensive, rehabbed bicycles is moving to the Old Fourth Ward in Atlanta. Benjamin Stimis said he recently shut the doors on Avondale Cycles at 2754 E. College Ave. He will open Atlanta Beltline Bicycles March 4 at 151 Sampson St. NE, Atlanta. Stimis said he planned to stick around Avondale Estates a while but the larger space (2,500 square feet, compared to 1,600 in Avondale Estates) convinced him to make the move. Stimis started out in Avondale Estates with Label Discount, which sells Costco overruns. He put a few fixed-up bikes out front and discovered they sold quickly, so he expanded that part of his businss. The Atlanta store will sell only bikes, he said.
