Men with a gun stuck up a Decatur CD employee in a parking lot. A Decatur High student said a man with a knife robbed him while walking on Avery Street.
Decatur police said they're investigating two armed robberies that occurred on two consecutive days last month. The first robbery happened about 9:15 p.m. Sept. 22 outside Decatur CD at 356 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. An employee closed up the store and walked into a parking lot when he was accosted by three males who looked to be between 15 and 18 years old. One held a gun "that did not look real." They demanded money and the employee handed over his wallet containing $3 and his iPhone. The men returned the wallet. The men jumped a rear fence and could not be located during a police search. They were described as black with no facial hair. One wore a black hoodie. Man arrested for weapons has been charged with impersonating an officer. In June, police in Lexington, Ky., filed weapons charges against him.
A man charged earlier this month with possession of weapons on the Agnes Scott College campus has been arrested and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer. Agnes Scott police Lt. Guy Antinozzi said Robert William Buschbaum, 27, is accused of impersonating an FBI agent Aug. 8 on the campus. Buschbaum had been living at Avery Glen Apartments, which are owned by the college and are considered part of the campus. Atlanta police and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office took Buschbaum into custody Sept. 15, Antinozzi said. He is being held in the DeKalb County Jail. Man living in Avery Glen Apartments jailed Friday after police find knives.
Agnes Scott College police arrested Robert William Buschbaum early Friday and charged him with three counts of having a weapon on school property. Buschbaum was taken into custody about 6 a.m. at Avery Glen Apartments, which are owned by the college and are part of the campus, Agnes Scott police Lt. Guy Antinozzi said. Antinozzi said officers found two knives but no firearms. He declined to provide any other details about the weapons. Buschbaum is not a student or employee of the school and his name was not on the apartment lease, Antinozzi said. Agnes Scott juniors and seniors live at Avery Glen, located at of 339 E.
