Two Big Festivals This Weekend

Expect big crowds at the Decatur Craft Beer Festival and AutumnFest in Avondale Estates.

Falls means festivals, especially around here, and two of the big ones of the year take place this weekend. The Decatur Craft Beer Festival This festival devoted to brew happens noon to 5 p.m. Saturday on the Decatur Court Square and kicks off Atlanta Beer Week. Tickets sold out in minutes, as usual. About 4,000 people will sample 100 craft beers, buy food and hear bands. The money raised goes to nonprofits in grants. For full information, go to the beer festival website or the Facebook page. AutumnFest Wraps Up

The Avondale Estates fall festival drew a good crowd.

The weather was perfect Saturday and Sunday for AutumnFest, Avondale Estate's annual fall festival. Hugh Simpson shared the video he shot Saturday and Therra Gwynn the photo she took Sunday afternoon.

Avondale ArtsParty Heralds AutumnFest

Avondale Arts Alliance to throw inaugural bash for AutumnFest and unveil its first-ever poster.

The winning poster design to promote Avondale Estates’ upcoming AutumnFest will be unveiled Sept. 21 at The Little Wine Shop. The inaugural ArtsParty, held that day from 6 to 8 p.m., will feature wine tasting, food, music and art, all to benefit the Avondale Arts Alliance. The alliance , sponsors AutumnFest, an annual event that will be held Oct. 15-16 this year. Guests at the ArtsParty will meet the winning poster artist and get a free, signed copy. Wine tastings of limited edition, Arts Alliance signature wines with custom-designed labels will be available exclusively at The Little Wine Shop and available for purchase throughout the holiday season.
