VA Medical Center Offers Services Oct. 29 to Fight Vet Homelessness

The center, with the help of more than 40 agencies, will provide legal assistance, Social Security information, house and employment assistance and free haircuts.

As part of a national drive to end veteran homelessness by 2015, the Atlanta VA Medical Center will hold a "Stand Down" for veterans and their families on Saturday, Oct. 29, with more than 40 community and government agencies providing legal assistance, Social Security benefits information, housing and employment assistance, help with driver’s and vehicle licenses and free haircuts. Will Gunn, general counsel for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will speak at the Stand Down to be held from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm at the medical center, 1670 Clairmont Rd.
