A woman said two men robbed her March 20 after she left the East Lake Marta Station.
A woman told Decatur police two men robbed her about 11:50 p.m. March 20 as she walked away from the East Lake Marta Station. This is the fifth armed robbery of a woman in Decatur since Feb. 7. In all the incidents, the women were approached by two men, one holding a pistol. Nobody has been injured. This is what the police report says: The woman left the Marta station and was walking down East Lake Drive, near the intersection with Johnston Place, when two men walked past and doubled back to confront her. One held a pistol, possibly a Glock, and said, "Give me everything you have." She handed over her purse and phone and the gunman pressed the pistol against her stomach and said, "Where is the money?" Decatur police urge residents to be alert. Four armed robberies of women occurred in downtown Decatur between Feb. 7 and March 15.
Two more women were robbed in downtown Decatur last week: a woman walking with her 5-year-old grandson and an Agnes Scott College student. This makes four holdups in the area since Feb. 7. Decatur police said all the victims were robbed of cellphones and other items between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. The suspects work in a team, with one man showing a black handgun. Two women walking along a downtown Decatur side street were robbed Thursday night by two men, one of them carrying a pistol, Decatur police reported. The robbery happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Ponce De Leon Place near Montgomery Street, about a block off West Ponce de Leon Avenue. The police report gave this account: The women were walking north when two males approached from behind. The first suspect asked for the time and the women said they didn't have it.
