Decatur Recreation Center is a community facility for rent and used by after-school programs by the City Schools ofMore Decatur. In the summer, it's a place for camp. The "Decatur Rec" center, as it is often called, is adjacent to the Decatur Library, which shares its free lot for parking. Scott Park sits behind Decatur Rec.

As a branch campus of The Art Institute of Atlanta, the art school is  in the city of Decatur on the eastMore side of the greater Atlanta area. The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur offers the advantages of the main campus in a small-town atmosphere. Students have three options to complete their programs of study: take all classes at the Decatur campus, take some classes at the main campus and some in Decatur or combine online classes with either of the first two options.

College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center is the official Pre-K site for the City Schools ofMore Decatur.

Through a unique partnership with the City Schools of Decatur, the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA and Partnership for Community Action manages the school's after-care and summer camps, as well as the 0 to 3-year-old program for rising pre-schoolers. The curriculum is based on Opening the World of Learning, or OWL.

Suzanne Kennedy is the principal of College Heights Pre-K and Abena Olugbala runs the pre-school program for the YMCA.

Winnona Park Elementary School

Winnona Park Elementary serves the southeastern section of City of Decatur. The historic school, built by architect J.W.More Sayward, opened in 1923. School colors are purple and gold and its motto is "Winnona Park Wildcats are cool." Gregory Wiseman is principal of the school.
