Located in the courthouse in the middle of downtown Decatur, the DeKalb History Center was founded in 1947 to collect, share and preserve the history for DeKalb County. This is a nonprofit organization that has a museum and extensive archive. The center also hosts parties for corporate events, awards dinners and fundraisers.
