Happening This Week: Last Day of School for Decatur High Seniors

Your week ahead planner: The school year is winding down, Randall Bramlett CD release party, Stories on the Square, SpringFest at Twain's and a lot of public meetings.

Here are five things to know about the week ahead in Decatur and Avondale Estates. For a full list of things to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Last day for Decatur High seniors. The seniors might be feeling a little frisky at Decatur High this week. Their last day of classes is Friday, May 17, with a senior breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria and graduation practice afterwards. Graduation is Friday, May 24.

2. Randall Bramlett CD release party. Bramlett, who has played with some of the biggest names in rock, is releasing his fourth solo album, Now Itβ€˜s Tomorrow. Show starts at 7 p.m. Friday in Eddie's Attic. $18 advance, $22 at the door.

3. Stories on the Square. Do you have a personal tale you'd like to share? Come to this story-telling gathering at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Famous Tavern at 2947 N. Druid Hills Road. The theme this month is "What Ails You?" Free.

4. Twain's presents SpringFest Music Festival. Gringo Star, Cute Boots and other bands perform at Twain's Billiards and Tap on Saturday to raise money for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. $10 in advance, $15 day of the show.

5. Public meetings. Avondale Estates Planning and Zoning Board at 6 p.m. Monday. Decatur Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Decatur Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Avondale Estates City Commission work session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Decatur Environmental Sustainability Board at 8 a.m. Friday.
