Cold Weather May Cause Service Disruptions Jan. 8, MARTA Warns

MARTA riders should leave early enough to allow for the extra time it likely will take to reach their destinations, the agency said.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority said the continuing cold weather may create rail service disruptions on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Wednesday is projected to be sunny, with a high temperature of 42 degrees in the Decatur area, according to the National Weather Service.

MARTA riders should leave early enough to allow for the extra time it likely will take to reach their destinations, the agency said.

MARTA will begin preparing its bus fleet earlier than normal and all routes will run on a normal weekday schedule. Mobility service for paratransit customers will also be in operation.

For more scheduling information, call the Customer Information Center at 404-848-5000, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Customers also may download MARTA's “On the Go” app to their smart phones for real-time data on bus and rail service, or go to the MARTA website for regular updates.
