Native Plant Sale Benefits DHS Beekeepers

Give your mom a gift that benefits Mother Earth and honeybees at the Decatur High School Community Garden. On Saturday, May 7th  9 a.m.-1 p.m., Decatur High School student beekeepers will be selling drought-tolerant native Georgia plants on the steps of the DHS gymnasium. A wide variety of blooming sun and shade plants will be available, including Butterfly Weed, Blue False Indigo, Black-Eyed Susan, Wrinkleleaf Goldenrod, White Wood Daisy, Fire Pink and Cranesbill and many others. A portion of the plant sales will benefit the DHS pollinator garden being developed by student beekeepers. Plants may be preordered from EcoAddendum, a Decatur nonprofit working to put Georgia’s plants back into Georgia’s landscape. Call 678-999-4654 or go to www.ecoaddendum.org. Plants may be purchased with cash or check. (Note: The Decatur Organic Market will be open nearby.)
