Decatur Cooperative Ministry Needs Volunteers, Donations

You can help the nonprofit that helps the homeless.

If you'd like to help the , several opportunities are available. Sue Holec of DMC tells about them:

Free food distribution. DCM will have free food distribution for 200 families on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. DeKalb residents struggling financially can receive a box of food. We need 35 volunteers for this effort. If you can help out for 2-3 hours, please contact Cliff Richards or Machelle Scandrett at 404-284-4411, cliff@decaturcooperativeministry.org or
machelle@decaturcooperativeministry.org. If you know of someone needing food assistance, have them contact Project Take Charge at 404-284-4411 to make an appointment.

Request for in-kind donations. DCM needs Laundry Detergent, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper Sandwich Bags, Tums, Goodnites (for bedwetting), Sanitary Napkins Diapers (size 4 & 5), Hand Sanitizer, Bleach, Laundry Detergent,
Couch, Love Seat, Twin Beds, New or Gently-Used Bed Sheets for Twin
and Queen size Beds, “Thank You” Cards, Legal Size Note Pads.

Garden of Eatin'. The DCM needs planning volunteers to help with the Garden of Eatin': A Taste of Decatur, which will held on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Decatur YMCA at 1100 Clairemont Ave.

. You could also help out by attending a show at . The nonprofit Poverty is Real is putting on concert July 27-29 to raise money for DCM.
