50 Cents. Period Party Raises $3,700

Group is working to improve health conditions for young women in developing nations.

The local group (yes, the grammar is weird) has been raising money for young women in developing nations who lack proper health care, including menstrual pads.

Last October numerous Decatur businesses and raised $7,700.

The group didn't stop there. On Jan. 22, they got together for a fund-raising party that was very successful. This Facebook posting tells the story.

Drumroll please: Shout out to our 50 cents. Period. sisters in Avondale Estates, who raised over $3700 at last week's Red Party, making our Reproductive Health & Menstrual Hygiene Education program in Andhra Pradesh, India fully funded for over one year. Funds were disbursed today to our field partners Youth for Seva Hyderabad and Gnana Saraswathi Foundation. THANK YOU for opening your hearts!

They had a good time, too, as these photos provided by Elaine Oyzon-Mast demonstrate.
