Why go: We're talking about the game in which you toss beanbags into holes cut into boards. Because some people get competitive, the latest round in the 2012 Atlanta Cornhole Series will be held at Harbour Bar. To get into the game, register at the competition website at www.gocornhole.com. The deadline is 6 p.m. today.

Why go: You'll find a large selection of used stuff at great prices. Breakfast and lunch items will be on sale, too.

Why go: Art by Hilary K. Yarbrough and J.E. Mitchell will go on display until Aug. 13. Guest writers for the evening include Randy Osborne, Gina Rickicki, and Nick Tecosky. Music provided by R_Garcia and The A.B. Temperature.

Why go: The Academy Theatre says, "You the audience choose who is funny in our monthly improv competition at the Academy Theatre!  Eight improvisers start on stage and take your tasteful suggestions to create songs, sketches, and more!  You then vote for the scenes you like!  Players from improv troupes from all over come to win our great evening of fun!"

Price: $12 online, $15 at the door.

Why go: Andrew Gross has co-written thrillers with James Patterson. He will talk about and sign his latest solo project, the novel "15 Seconds."
