Summer Camp Options
Agnes Scott College, the Little Shop of Stories and other places offer camps for your kids.
Decatur and Avondale Estates offer a variety of summer camps for kids. Here are a few of the options.
When/where: Weeklong camps throught the week of July 30 at the Little Shop of Stories at 133A East Court Square Decatur GA 30030. Note: There are no camps the week of July 4.

Why go: These are themed camps, such as American Girl Camp, Pirates Camp, Magic Treehouse Camp and Hogwarts Camp for the Harry Potter fans.
Price: Each camp is $280 with the exceptions of Camp Hogwarts and Camp Half-Blood, which are $330.

Agnes Scott College Sports Camps
When/where: Weeklong camps through the week of Aug. 6 at Agnes Scott College at 141 E. College Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. No camps the week of July 4.
Why go: You child will receive instruction from college coaches and athletes in basketball, soccer, baseball/softball, tennis and swimming.
Price: $185 per child per week or $125 half-day per week.
When/where: at the Decatur-DeKalb Family YMCA at 1100 Clairemont Ave.
Decatur, GA 30030.
Why go: The YMCA offers an array of sports and specialty camps for kids interested in swimming, soccer, gymnastics and arts and crafts.
Price: Fees vary per camp. Half day programs available. See the YMCA website for details.
When/where: In Decatur, at the Friends School at 862 Columbia Drive.
Why go: Circus Camp is a day-camp experience designed to introduce children to circus, performing, and visual arts in a safe and noncompetitive environment. Camper age begins at 5 years old and includes teens. Any level of physical development and skill is welcomed.
Price: Base price of $250 per child, but extras cost more.
When/where: Day camps are offered in one-week sessions at Glenlake, McKoy and the Beacon Hill Complex and in two-week sessions at Ebster Rec Center.
Why go: It's close to home. Child care is offered until 6 p.m. at many camps.
Price: Varies, but financial assistance is available.
