Volunteer Vacation in Kenya this Fall

Kelly Campbell, founder of The Village Experience scheduled to speak at Destination Kenya at The Solarium in Decatur on Wednesday, May 15th.

One of the best ways to learn about the true cultures of a country is by volunteer vacationing. While most volunteer trips are mission-led service projects, the ones offered by Atlanta based nonprofit, Go Eat Give, involve cultural activities, sightseeing, immersion in cuisine, and volunteering through local interaction.

Go Eat Give has partnered with Indiana based, The Village Experience (TVE) to organize a Cultural Festival in Lamu, Kenya in November 2013. TVE co-founder, Kelly Campbell, and Go Eat Give founder, Sucheta Rawal will be leading this trip and conducting cooking classes and volunteer activities throughout the week. This is a special trip to a culturally rich and diverse island.

The trip will include nine nights accommodations, in-country transportation including round trip flights to Lamu, some meals, a sunset cruise, Swahili cooking class, Lamu town tour, cultural festival activities, guide and donations to orphanages in Lamu. Guests may also enjoy optional safaris to Masai Mara National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Naivasha. Itinerary and registration details are on Go Eat Give web site
