Decatur Schools Seek Teachers Who Go 'Extra Mile'

Until April 19, students in the City Schools of Decatur can nominate a teacher who has contributed extra time and effort.

Nominations must be student-created in the form of a clearly written or typed essay explaining how the teacher has "gone the extra mile."   Essays should include your teacher's name as well as your name, address, telephone number, school and grade.  Note: Younger students can be assisted in writing their essay as long as the feelings expressed are those of the student not the parent. Essays will be judged on content, not writing skills.

Essays should be placed in a sealed envelope and turned in to the school's principal's office by April 19. The winner will be announced May 7 and students whose nominee was selected will be allowed to read his/her essay.
