Valarie Wilson To Lead State School Boards Association

She's been a member of the Decatur School Board for a decade.

Valarie Wilson, a member of the Decatur School Board since 2002, is the new president of the Georgia School Boards Association.

She took office in June during a GSBA meeting in Savannah. She was the president-elect, so it's no surprise.

Here's her bio from the City Schools of Decatur webpage.

Valarie Wilson has lived in Decatur for 17 years, and she and her husband Carter have a son, Nicholas, who is a sophomore at Eastern Arizona University. Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Clark College in Atlanta and did graduate study in public administration at Troy State University. She is the Executive Director for the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, and serves as the President Elect for the Georgia School Board Association (GSBA). Ms. Wilson held the office of Chair of the CSD Board of Education for seven years until January 2011.

And pray tell, just what function does the Georgia School Boards Association perform.......? Will it work to transform the pathetic Georgia public school systems back to systems we can believe in? An inquiring mind wants to know.......

Naw, Scott, I never learned how to "Work the Internet" or even how the "Internet Works"......it's just over and above this old guys abilities; however, I have learned, after a long time, how to recognize and click on links. What I was really hoping was that Valarie would respond to my inquiry and tell me in her own words. You know, all that stuff on web pages is just, just......stuff that is put out there to make their existence sound good.....
