June A. McKain, the mother of Principal Lauri McKain, died Wednesday. An email sent to the City Schools of Decatur staff said she died from complications of a stroke.
According to her obituary on Newsday.com, she was well known for nurturing dialysis patients across Long Island for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Larry; children Bill and Lauri; and grandchildren Billy and Sebastian.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:30 p.m. at the Giove Funeral Home, 1000 Middle Country Road, Selden, NY 11784. Mass will be Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Margarets R.C. Church in Selden. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
