Decatur Residents Can Do Sunday Brunch at Cakes & Ale

The popular Decatur restaurant began opening for Sunday brunch earlier this spring with its signature take on classic brunch dishes.

From a news release:

Recently named number two restaurant in the city by Atlanta magazine’s Bill Addison, Cakes & Ale debuted a midday Sunday brunch service earlier this spring.

Executive chef Billy Allin, five-time James Beard Foundation award semifinalist, serves dishes featuring the freshest seasonal meats, fruits and vegetables when developing the weekly menus.

Late spring menu items include omelette with pancetta and braised leeks; farro and mushrooms with garbanzo beans, fried egg and pepper relish; and kielbasa and potato puree with poach egg, kraut and frisee. Additional indulgences come in the way of awarm scone plate served alongside clotted cream and persimmon butter,Belgian waffle and chorizo as well as seasonal fresh fruits and house made granola.

Cakes & Ale wine director Jordan Smelt offers a selection of classic daytime cocktails to toast the meal, such as the C&A Bloody Mary, the Aviation with gin, lemon and luxardo maraschino, and the Brown Derby featuring bourbon, honey syrup and grapefruit.
