Decatur High Robotics Team Going To State Tournament This Weekend

The competition will be held at Southern Polytechnic State University.

This information about the Decatur High Robotics team was provided by the school and team dad Bob Herndon.

The Robotics team Global Dynamics will be sending thee teams to two competitions in the the next two weeks.

On Saturday, March 3, both Global Dynamics A and Global Dynamics B are among the top 32 teams  to go to the State Tournament at the Southern Polytechnic gymnasium in Marietta.

Both teams designed and built smaller robots, 18 inches in height and width.  Some of tasks are to move bowling balls and place  racquetballs in crates.

On March 17, the teams will combine for a competition at the Gwinnett Civic Center.

Admission to both events is free.

The coaches for the Decatur High team are Jeremy Roberts and Dave Schaar.  

The  team consists of these students: Alan Smith, Alison Thompson, J.T. Herndon, James Weigle, Peter Coiron, Zack Ritter, Lexie Ritter, Shane Kearney , Ruby Lewis, Adam Garlow,  John Saenger,  Billy Jacobson, Whitner Schellingerhoudt, Daniel Easley, Danielle Major, Gabe Weber, Matt Thornton, Akash Grudiseva and LaRon Foy.
