Renfroe Middle School To Hold Bullying Workshop Wednesday

Parents are invited to this event, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

The has put a lot of emphasis on stopping bullying.

Since 2003, Georgia State University has examined the school system as part of its Bullying Intervention Project. (Click on item IV.)

On Wednesday, March 7, will conduct a program for students and parents on bullying. Here's a message from Principal Derrick Thomas:

Renfroe's school-wide effort to “Box Out Bullying” will kick off with an interactive assembly for all Renfroe students on Wednesday, March 7.

The assembly, Box Out Bullying, offered by an Astoria, NY company, is aligned with the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program and is intended to empower students with the knowledge that they have the power to get bullying to stop and that they are responsible for their own actions and the actions of their peers.

Renfroe's community-wide effort to “Box Out Bullying” will kick off with a parent workshop on Wednesday, March 7 at 6:30 pm in the Renfroe Media Center. This nationally acclaimed workshop for parents is comprehensively designed to make sure everyone is on the same page.  

The workshop is open to all parents of kids in the Decatur system, not just Renfroe Middle.
