Teacher Nora Bergman says that junior Manal Sidi won this year's competition with her recitation of "Momma Said" by Calvin Forbes.

She will compete in the regional competition on March 11, which is being held at Decatur High School this year for the first time, Bergman said.
Other competitors will perform at the high school's arts showcase March 1.
