New Deadline For Decatur Schools Nutrition Survey

Should schools serve chocolate milk? That's one question parents will be asked in the survey.

The City Schools of Decatur has extended the deadline for parents to complete an online survey about proposed ways to make school food healthier. The new deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

The nutrition survey started when a committee came up with ideas. Eliminating chocolate milk was the proposal that got the most attention.

The survey can be reached by going to the City Schools of Decatur webpage.

First, of course, parents should read the recommendations from the Ultimate Menu Committee, a group of school nutrition employees, parents and one student who spent months studying what's served in the lunchrooms.
