A premature baby herself, Simms’ has made the March of Dimes her cause. “I want to be an obstetrician. A lot of people in my family were premature, and I work at the Frasier Center, so babies are a big part of my life,” Simms said. “I guess I wanted to support a cause that I felt passionate about.”

The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and the one-mile fun run at 9 a.m. Registration is 30 minutes before each race. It costs $15 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run, with a family rate of two people for $15.
