Lights Out! Windy Weather Causes Outages At Four Area Schools

Parents were allowed to keep their children home as Georgia Power remedied the situation.

Inclement weather left students in the dark and kept many at home.

The high winds Tuesday morning caused power outages at four Decatur schools, officials said.

Schools remained open, but the district allowed parents to keep students home while Georgia Power addressed the situation.

The four schools affected were ollege Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue and Oakhurst and Winnona Park elementary schools.
