Former DHS Star Dan Wilcox Builds His Own Business
After NFL career, he started a renovation and design company.
Dan Wilcox's football playing days are over, but he's back in the spotlight a little.
After starring at , Wilcox played at Appalachian State University and enjoyed a 10-year career as a tight end with three teams in the National Football League -- the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens.
Wilcox, 34, has begun a new stage of his life.

He started a company called Mr. 83 Degreez Renovations & Design, based in Atlanta. It's named after his football number.
The company is attracting some attention. The website Entrepreneur.com featured Wilcox in a slide show about NFL players who started businesses after their playing careers ended, such as John Elway.

"After playing football for so long I didn't want to have a boss anymore," Wilcox told the website. "I wanted to be the boss."
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recently talked to Wilcox about his business. He says he was able to make the business work because of skills he learned at Decatur High.
In case you don't care about football or building, Cox also made headlines back in 2008 when he and his wife, Shauna Chin, married on the 50-yard line of M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
It was the stadium's first wedding and was featured on the Style Network's "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway."
