Family Festival Celebrates Start of Olympics

C.H.O.I.C.E.S. sponsored the event last weekend.

The Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) celebrated the start of the Summer Olympics Saturday by hosting the second annual Let’s Move! DeKalb Fitness & Nutrition Expo.

Several hundred kids and adults learned about fitness, nutrition and Olympic sports at the event at the Exchange Park Intergenerational Center outside Decatur.

Kids demonstrated their athletic skills in tae kwondo and other sports.

The free family festival featured fun fitness activites with representatives from the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks and Team B.L.U.E. Tennis.

C.H.O.I.C.E.S.' mascot Zoey celebrated her birthday with a celebration that taught kids healthy eating habits.

Presented by the Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority, Let's Move! DeKalb provided nutrition education exhibits and physical fitness activities.
