Salads of Abundance: Share a garden Lunch while learning!

Saturday,  June  25, 11-12:30pm

Join Katy Stafford, East Atlanta Cook Extraordinaire, as we explore the fine art of the garden salad.  Salads are much more than a bowl of lettuce with cut up vegetables.  In this class, we will learn to make a protein-based salad (vegetarian and meat options), an Asian inspired noodle salad, and build a beautiful composed “Oakhurst Community Garden” salad made up of what we find fresh in the garden and other local gardens!   We will discuss many aspects of the salad, like proper produce selection, nutrition elements, and preparation.  And to “top it all off” we’ll create the dressings for our salads.   Learn how to make a tasty and healthy vinaigrette with enough easy variations for a whole season of creative eating, and a cream-based dressing that isn’t loaded with calories.  Come hungry because you’ll get to eat everything that we make!
