Iyengar yoga is named after Sri BKS Iyengar, who lives and teaches in Pune, India. The focus of this classical style of yoga is on correct body alignment and injury prevention. Props such as wooden blocks, chairs, blankets, and straps are used to help people with various body types find correct alignment in postures.

Chris O'Brien teaches these 90 minute classes. Having worked for over 20 years in the fields of nursing and public health, Chris is a true believer in the ability to transform the body and mind with Iyengar yoga, moving toward better mental and physical health and happiness with

I love this class. Chris makes sure we work hard, learn something about our body and learn something about the roots of yoga. As a Neuromuscular Therapist I was first drawn to Iyengar for it's attention to stabilizing our joints and strengthening as we move. I have learned so much about to care for my body as I work, play and train. In addition I have been introduced to the Yoga Sutras and a traditional culture with much to teach us.
