Deputy Agriculture Secretary Dines At Renfroe Middle

Renfroe Middle School students had lunch Friday with Kathleen Merrigan, deputy secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.

She was in town for the Fresh Summit, a conference by the Produce Marketing Association. This week is also National School Lunch Week with an emphasis on Farm to School efforts.

The planned lunch at Renfroe was pizza with a choice of seasonal vegetables as toppings. Other offerings include the local produce of the month, apples, and the salad bar with many local toppings.
