DeKalb Schools Makes Decision on Tuesday Classes

Classes, programs and extracurricular activities canceled.

DeKalb Schools will be closed Tuesday due to "high winds and extremely cold temperatures," the school system announced on its Facebook page.

Superintendent Michael Thurmond said the district will close "to protect the health and well being of students and staff because of the potential risks associated with frostbite and hypothermia." After-school programs and extracurricular activities are also canceled.
