Decatur Schools Close Again Tuesday; City to Open Polar Day Camp for Kids

Polar Camp is first-come, first served for a limited number of city of Decatur students in Kindergarten through fifth grade only.

Decatur City Schools will close for the second consecutive day Tuesday, because of the continued frigid temperatures that are pummeling metro Atlanta.

To ease parents' "what am I going to do with the little kids" worries, the city is offering a free Polar Camp at the Decatur Recreation Center, 231 Sycamore St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parents will have to supply their kids' lunches.

From the city:

Polar Camp is first-come, first served for a limited number of city of Decatur students in Kindergarten through fifth grade only. There is no cost for Polar Camp for Decatur residents. Parents will need to fill out registration and health forms when dropping off campers who are not already enrolled in after school programs.
