Decatur's Associate Super Doesn't Get Iowa Job

Thomas Van Soelen had interviewed to be the superintendent in the Cedar Falls School District. They hired a school superintendent from another Iowa district.

Thomas Van Soelen, the associate superintendent of the City Schools of Decatur, will be sticking around.

Van Soelen was one of four finalists .

That school district announced Wednesday that Andy Pattee of the Charles City, Iowa, school district had been hired.

Van Soelen grew up in Iowa and went to school there. He'd said he sought the job to be closer to his and his wife's family.
