Chris Billingsley sent this information about the Decatur High Close Up Club.

Congratulations to the DHS Close Up Club. Last Saturday, the club members competed at the Dearborn Park/Renewal service competition in which teams compete to remove invasive plants.

CU team members dedicated their work in memory of RMS teacher Stacey Daniels.  The DHS Super Close Up team, led by veteran CU alumni Madeleine Henner and Emily Schulke, won third place and $300.

The DHS Close Up team, led by Mr. Curtis and parent volunteer Ms. Boykin, won second place and $500.  The prize money will be used to provide travel grants for Close Up students who attend the spring trip to Washington, D.C.

First place went to the Ivy League (BKA the Midway Woods neighborhood association which will use the money to improve Dearborn Park).  Good Job DHS Close Up and Ivy League!
