Bus Routes, Glennwood Elementary Start Time Changing

The City Schools of Decatur said the changes will be effective Monday, Aug. 20.

The City Schools of Decatur has announced two changes, effective Monday.

will start classes at 8 a.m., ten minutes earlier than when school started Aug. 1.

A letter to parents from Principal Dianna Herron-Watson said the changes were needed to make transportation more efficient.

The letter can be found on the school website. The school system said no other schools will change start times.

The school system said in a letter that the changes were needed because of overcrowding low ridership, trip efficiency, traffic concerns and driver absences. The letter can be found on the school system website.

When school started, Superintendent Phyllis Edwards said changes probably would be coming as administrators looked for ways to make the transportation system more efficient.
