Avondale Resident Wins Fulbright Teaching Assistantship

Katherine Baylor Fields Hardin graduated from the University of the South.

The University of the South reports,

Katherine Baylor Fields (Kate) Hardin of Avondale Estates has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Russia for next year.

Fulbright participants are chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential, and are given the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.

A double major, Hardin graduated summa cum laude with degrees in German and music during Commencement exercises for the University of the South. She is the daughter of Barbara G. Hardin.

Hardin also received the Jackson Cross Memorial Award for excellence in German and the Judy Running Memorial Music Prize. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
