Water Main Break Leaves Decatur Residents Without Water

Neighborhood off Katie Kerr affected.

A water main break in Decatur's unincorporated DeKalb neighborhoods off Katie Kerr, left dozens of residents without water Wednesday.

Several DeKalb Watershed Management workers were around the neighborhood working on the issue. The incident happened behind a residence, according to one. It's unclear when the water will be turned back on or if there will be a boil water advisory, once it does.

Ihsan Yildirim, who lives in the Royal Bluff neighborhood, said he noticed that his home had no water around 1 p.m., and then alerted county water employees about the problem. By 3:45 p.m., he was still without water.

"I can't do anything," said Yildirim, who was seen working outside his home. "I'm just stuck."Β

A spokesperson with DeKalb Watershed Management could not be reached for comment.
