Work On South McDonough Street Will Affect School Transportation

The city will be making stormwater system repairs.

The is warning parents that repair work on South McDonough Street next week will affect transportation to several schools, especially College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center, Winnona Park Elementary and Renfroe Middle School.

The work starts Tuesday, Jan. 17, and could last 21 straight days. An email from the school system says,

Please allow at least 15 extra minutes in the morning when dropping off your child, and even more time if your child attends College Heights ECLC.  David Junger, Assistant City Manager for Public Works, is working with Principal Suzanne Kennedy concerning the parking at College Heights.

South McDonough Street will be closed between Griffin Circle and Lenore Street beginning Jan. 17 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The work will take no longer than 21 consecutive days and homeowners will be able to access their driveways during construction. The road will be reopened every night and early morning between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m.
